Beyond Boundaries Conference

Welcome to BEYOND BOUNDARIES: The Civic Engagement and Democracy Conference for Community Leaders in Baltimore!

BEYOND BOUNDARIES will take place Saturday, September 28, from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm at Baltimore Unity Hall, 1505 Eutaw Place. We will gather to learn, grow, network, share a meal, and celebrate as we work together to build a more civically engaged Baltimore and a stronger democracy.

We are the Baltimore Civic Engagement Partnership, a coalition of individuals and organizations who believe the key to a stronger Baltimore is an engaged and active population. Our members include No Boundaries Coalition, Step Up Maryland, Baltimore Votes, and Village of Violetville – groups that work to increase democratic engagement through voter registration drives, candidate forums, block captain trainings, youth organizing, and community events.

Our BEYOND BOUNDARIES conference is by and for community leaders in Baltimore. If you want your neighborhood and city to be stronger, mark your calendar for September 28 and plan to join us! Save the date now, and check back here in the coming days and weeks for information about workshops, registration, ticketing, and the full schedule of activities on 9/28.

Our event is by and for community leaders, with topics including:

  • Voting rights for returning citizens
  • Community-based violence reduction strategies
  • The racial implications of ballot initiatives
  • Making boards and commissions more effective
  • Inclusive community building for local leaders
  • and much more!
Tickets are $10 for individuals and small nonprofits, but no one will be turned away. We are asking larger organizations to “sponsor” our event by buying blocks of tickets that will be made available for free, so anyone who wishes to can attend. To discuss sponsorships, reach out to Mike at 410-218-0386 or [email protected].

The Baltimore Civic Engagement Partnership is grateful to Fund for Change and Baltimore Votes for their financial support.
