What Does the Community Think about Environmental Justice

Briefly, what is environmental justice to you:

  • Lack of knowledge
  • Love, respect, and care for your environment
  • Lack of access to land
  • Safety
  • Making surroundings are taken care of properly/keeping it in order
  • Our right to have environmental justice
  • Human decency

When you hear the term “clean transportation” what comes to mind?

  • Eco-friendly
  • Electrical vehicles
  • Walking or anything that lessens carbon footprint (carpool, public transportation)
  • Accessibility
  • More light, more law enforcement, more community input
  • Efficiency
  • More biking, more bike lanes, get where you need to be without using a car
  • Making more electrical bikes

What does a more equitable or fair transportation system look like to you? To your community?

  • More incentives for using clean transportation

    • Financial, additional lane for carpooling/mass transit

  • More seats and new seats at bus stops for waiting

  • Expanded access program for those with disabilities and a better mobility program (help those that need a different way of traveling)

  • Better food storage when going to the market as a person who uses mobility and has mobility issues + more room for those taking mobility transport to bring more stuff with them

  • Better communication to the community about what transportation options are available to them
